The Harvey’s were one of the prominent Quaker families in Leeds in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This volume is recollections on the author's sister after her passing. Excerpt from the first page, Death has been very busy with us lately,
three of our family have been his victims; but the first blow was the most severe, the most unexpected. The dear aunt, who used to caress you so fondly, who always thought you superior to all other children, because you were mine, was cut off in the full bloom of health and loveliness.
She was taken from me at a time when my heart was withered with many sorrows,
but, blessed be God! Her warning was short,
but she died in the full assurance of a happy immortality.
