Primitive memento mori Victorian death remembrance wreath.
This is a very unique and old wreath that was made to mourn the loss of a young women. Not well to do but certainly well loved and tangibly remembered. The wreath is adorned with her personal mementos. From the deceased, the initial letter A and a braid of long jet black human hair. A silk flower covered comb, two large wood tipped hat pins, a pretty cameo broach pin, a sweater clasp. An Oxzyn Company natural rouge box, a round hand mirror and an old decorative brass button. This memorial wreath is an overstatement in embellishment. A beautiful hand made lace doily, colorful chromolithograph. Note the wide stitch crazy quilt velvet patch pieces surrounding a well stuffed ring pillow like wreath. Touching, warm and loving memoria.
