Mourning cloak Butterfly rests atop an agregation of flaxen blond hair, encased in old nickle silver make up compact. Unusual for human hair to found in places other then brooches, rings and other jewelry, yet this old piece is special. Heavy flat silver colored mesh chain also in fine condition secures this rare piece. Glass has been replaced with clear plastic or similar material. Powder puff and well are cleaverly hidden in base. So well I did not discover prior to this post. Classy yet so very different. Very early 20th century style.
