Framed hand painted Victorian Memorial with Memento Mori photo.
Ornate wood frame with original wavy glass shrouds cabinet photograph.
Mother Magee died March 14 1893.
Well loved in life.
In death her Memorial features lovely pastel colored flowers and a Honey Bee.
Possibly a Philadelphia woman, the back of frame is
secured with an early newspaper.
One headline includes details on a Pittsburgh Allegheny county
race for Governor by William D. McClelland Coroner, latter Sheriff.
Ads for Rose Hill Cemetery and Tony Fiore and Sons Monuments
are of interest, though Post date memorial.

Dated February 7 1900, this late Victorian Mourning remembrance is quite moving.
Human hair fashioned into a wispy feather encircles the late woman's photo.
Regrets, written atop and edged with dried Forget Me Nots flower petals.
Dark walnut oval frame entombs this relic with brass molding on curved bubble glass.

Selwa Kazimirez Remembrance 1914
Original Mourning watercolor painting of a young woman.
Kneeling with her head on tomb,
she mourns with Forget Me Not flowers in hand.
Dedicated, Selwa Kazimirez August 22 1914.
Died just about month after the assassination
of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary,
by a Serbian nationalist Francis and World War One erupted.
The word, Wspomnienie, Polish for Remembrance
rests at bottom border.
The mausoleum stone chamber vault setting
is colored richly with sepia tones.
Sad, emotionally wrenching and dark.
Upon the swirling marble balusters cryptically written,
other non translated memorials are inscribed.
It really captures the spirit of deep loss and inconsolable grief.
Lovely feminine form, she appears to be of Noble birth.
This Memorial painting is in high continental Edwardian style.
An obscure coat of arms hangs on the wall of this crypt.
A brief internet search connects Selwa Kazimirez to
Polish General Andrew Thaddeus Bonventure Kosciusko
the Anglicesed name for the revolutionary War Hero.
aka Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kościuszko.
The connection remains unclear, but inquiries are being made.
Original matting shrouded by thick glass,
entombed by olive hue wooden frame.
An incredible work of original European Memento Mori watercolor art.

Framed Victorian Memento Mori post mortem remembrance.
Ornate gesso and wood with thick wavy glass,
this antique memorial Litho by James G. Henderson of 110 East Pearl St.
was published by the Memorial Publishing Company of Cincinnati Ohio.
Mary Treesh departed this life August 25 1898 aged 80 years 7 months and 29 days.
Religion filled her soul with peace,
upon a living bed;
Let faith look up, let sorrow cease,
She lives with Christ o'er head
Yes faith beholds where she sits
With Jesus, clothed in white
Our loss is her eternal gain;
She dwells in cloudless light.
Amazing cemetery scene with statuary and ornate alcoves angel clad.
Weeping willows a lovely river and a great cabinet card photo of the late Mz. Mary.

Victorian Gilt wooden framed Silk weaving funeral remembrance H.R.H Prince Albert, Consort.
The Lost Love and husband to Her Majesty Queen Victorian.
Dated 14 December 1861, this wood framed Memento Mori well remembers the reason the Victorians celebrated deep Mourning.
The Widow Victoria became inconsolable.
Grief at the death of Prince Albert was so extreme; it lasted for the rest of her life.
19th century Mourning fashion was sunk to new emotional depths.
In fine antique condition, this silk Mourning ribbon is signed, Koechlin and Sons, Basle and J. Bauman.

Nancy Morse was born January 31 1835.
Superb moderne wood frame.
Funeral urn amid weeping willow trees, graveyard scene.
Her fractional life was deeply mourned as evidenced
by this touching hand written memorial remembrance.
Under that farewell sweet child, we part in pain.
We only part, to meet again.
