William McKinley Antique Framed Memorial 1901 President William McKinley antique memorial memento mori ornate wood, gesso and glass framed tribute. Assassinated 25th President of the United States. One of three martyred elected officials, along with Lincoln and Garfield to become a trinity often portrayed on EAPG glass. Produced by the famous Home Art Picture Company a most popular late Victorian art house.This huge mourning remembrance measures thirty by twenty six inches and is quite powerful in appearance. Rare political Presidential memorabilia. Wonderful late Victorian frame, with bold graphics. Great gift for the politician in your life.



Succeeded by Theodore Roosevelt, this along with the death of Queen Victoria, marked the end of an age. McKinley was shot by Leon F. Czolgosz, a Republican turned Anarchist, on September 6, 1901, while attending the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. He died of blood poisoning from his infected wounds, at 2:15 a.m. on Saturday September 14, 1901. Noticed on the Wikipedia web site he had a parrot named Washington Post.

In Memorium My Sister Emily 1881 Unusually framed Victorian memorial dated 1881. Novel wood frame with original glass, this tender tribute laments the passing of Emily, on the 29th of May 1881. Lovingly hand painted floral flourishes amid a deeply embossed card by Wood, there mourns a lady, a weeping angel and topped of with weeping willow trees. Raised relief impossible to photograph well, will surely impress in hand. One our most touching mourning antiques. This emotional Memento Mori is fourteen and a half tall, by eleven and a half wide. What about sweet Emily ?

Memorial Oak Framed Caligraphy 1880 Memento mori Eliza J. Millner in fine hand script. Touching death remembrance written by Lemuel Kayhart on the demise of his sister. Measuring twenty seven inches by twenty two the ancient oak frame is nicely grained. Original wavy glass covers this fine hand drawn ink. Scrolled birds and flowers are drawn in high artistic style. Deep and respect laden Victorian mourning antique.


Memorial lines written by Lemuel Kayhart on the death of his sister Eliza J. Millner who departed this life April 1880 in the 29th year of her age one year after the burial of her husband Joseph Millner leaving four children the oldest being less then seven years.

Burial Pet Rabbit Victorian Mourning Antique Death of Mr. Bunny, a solemn occasion for these 19th century mourners. Dead pet rabbit in the fore ground, about to take a dirt nap, while juvenile grave digger turns the spade. Pastoral scene with sheep grazing peacefully lake side yet all those present portray loss as only children can. Even with the old glass shine and reflection lightly obscuring the Litho print image, the devastating loss and emotional quality of this image transcends time. This Easter bunny will be late. Original period wooden frame with decorative plaster work has a few minor chips at edge. Rabbit season, antique Bugs Bunny memorial art. We originally sold this important Litho 2 years ago and have the distinct pleasure of re-offering it from the original consigner!

Funeral Antique Georgian Mourning Memento Mori 1821 Pre Victorian mourning dried flower memorial urn with solid wood frame. Likely carved Walnut, this amazing remembrance is dated 12-27-21. Katy Miny Is Absent Memorial Sampler Victorian punch hand embroidery wood framed sampler. Extraordinary in that it is NOT overtly religious. It states only that, Absent Is Katy Miny But Not Forgotten. Still crisp after all these years the late 19th century embroidering is not frayed or fuzzy. Memento Mori Hair Art Gabriel Angel 1830c Death remembrance memorial cemetery grave scene with human hair, in wood cased plaque.
Late Georgian period circa 1830, this sad funeral memoria shows a hand painted gravestone monument with the words Gabriel Angel inscribed.
Weeping willow tree, cross and flowers fashioned out of the deceased hair by mourner in solemn manner.
Brass bezel secure in dark walnut hard wood case makes image most poignant.
Inner glass has crack, though outer is in very fine condition.
Likely French or Belgian origin.
Rare early post-mortem mourning antique and very sad.

Sampler Memorial 1847 Framed Memento Mori Sacred to the memory of Ann Scott who departed this life May 11th 1847 Aged 55.
So starts this well made early Victorian embroidery sampler, in black striped antique oak frame.
Glare from original bubbles in glass notwithstanding, it is easy to see the detailed handiwork loving remembering this 19th century woman.
Quoting Revelation 6:8. O Death where is thy sting, O grave where is thy victory.

Further it states,
Affliction sore long time she bore
Physicians were in vain
But God alone did hear here groan and freed her from her pain.

Purchased in England, this early memoria is in fine condition.
Very moving, a tangible statement of grief, hand made by a close mourner of Ann Scott.

Epitaph reads, After a long and painful illness passed away in his sleep.
Original Edwardian wood framed Memento Mori with clear details, the photographers names, William Newell and E. Dereham are clearly seen
Daughter and grand daughter mourn at grave with intricate wrought iron fence, an odd flower cage and several older tombstones in background.
