Giving Death The Finger Memorial Photo Set 1874
2 antique Victorian memento mori mourning remembrance CDV photographs. Each with a marble angel perched atop portait of the deceased. The angel really appears to be giving us the single digit salute, though we know better, don't we?
Photographer Briggs and son St Johns Wood England. March 24th 1874.
Name of the mourned is hard to read though back of card scrawled in pen is Ellen Henderson, likely surviving relative. Set of two carte de visite photos.

Bring Out Your Dead Victorian CDV Photo
19th Century Naples funeral procession with white hooded pallbearers and cortege. Note extremely ornate casket atop funeral bier. The white robbed mourners were not KKK clansmen but actually fraternal order of the Knights Templar. Torch bearing, bright color emblems must be high rankng member.
