Tastes Like Chicken, 2 Cooking Dog Photos Don't Look! Antique circa 1915 pair of cooked canines snapshots. These appear NOT to be stereotypical Korean folks, but south east Asian Hill tribe Hmong, Thai, Cambodian or Viet natives. Note the unusual hair styles. Details are sketchy but the flies can be seen on one dog. Interesting anthropology study.

Til Death Do Us Part Antique Wedding Memorial Often called flue cover, this antique celluloid photo image of wedded bliss reveals upon closer, examination it to be a memento mori remembrance photo. Note the husband and wife are made from two seperate images spliced together. Black checker pattern on the border, a key mourning pattern.

This old photo begs the question... Why do men Die before women in marriage? Because they want to.

RARE International Order Oddfellows IOOF Ivory celluloid over tin antique photo post mortem remembrance image of a long passed on gentleman member of the fraternal group International Order of Oddfellows. IOOF. Proud, vibrant yet still dead, this man in mourning coat gazes back from the past on this desktop round button like picture. Seven inches across. This type of photograph was often referred to in error, as a flue cover.

Featuring multi colored pansy flowers, the crossed halberd ceremonial weapons with I.O.O.F. on the blades, as well as the all Seeing Eye of Jehovah, linked chain with the letters FLT, Friendship, Love, truth. This scarce fraternity brotherhood Postmortem is in fine condition. Made by Cruver Manufacturing Photographer. Odd Fellows.

Dante's Inferno Death Mask Magic Side Dante Alighieri author of The Divine Comedy funeral mask on a antique glass magic slide. Born in Florence, Italy, in May 1265,died Revenna in 1321. Known for his outspoken critique of Papal indulgence as well roasting social elite hypocrites, he paved the way for later reformists and break away Protestant sects. This old glass slide made by Edward H Kemp of San Francisco California Cal. is number sixty eight. In great condition and rather eerie.

Japan Funeral Albumen Photo Nippon 1897c Post Mortem Japanese funeral procession photograph on Yokahoma street. Photographer Tamura Kozaburo was born in 1856 and opened his popular Meiji era studio in 1874. He apprenticed under Kanemaru Genzo in Edo.The earthquake of 1923 closed forever his shop. This huge hand colored albumen measures ten inches by seven and a half and is on it's original mount. Great details in te crows of mourners. The casket is very ornate and pall bearers expressive.

Ex The London Clark Gallery Washington, DC In pristine condition, this antique image measures twelve by ten and is enclosed in a light grey mat. Museum collection or private home, how incredible this struggle between death and dinner. A maritime meal.

Speaking of devil fish, it's not likely you would see me at the local Sushi bar begging for Tako. I am however a big fan of Oktapodi maratho krasato and Insalata di Polipi.

This unusually shaped cabinet cdv like photo measures seven inches tall by three and a half wide. The tombstone reads, Fairwell, She was a kind and affectionate wife, a good mother and friend to all. Sound like an epitaph obituary for a horse! In tiny words on the bottom of grave stone image are, Photographer St. Louis T.H. Elgin 1896

Magic Slide Independant Order Of Foresters I.O.O.F Funeral post mortem magic slide hand colored exceptionally rare death image from fraternal organization I.O.O.F. Postmortem scene includes decedant wake with home viewing, laid out full couch. His portrait in life hangs eerily on the majestically decorated floral pattern wall.

In mourning attendance are his faimily, grief stricken. Gold star and the initials IOOF appear on slides edge. Title reads, Man lying dead # 6.

Incredibly detailed hand painted image. This poigniant image suggests the order specializes in fraternal community care. From the still existant fraternity web site;

The Independent Order of Foresters is one of the world’s oldest and largest fraternal benefit societies with over one million members. The IOF Foresters is international in scope with the majority of its members located in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The IOF Foresters sells a wide range of life insurance, and annuity products.History of the Foresters. The concept of Forestry originated hundreds of years ago when people voluntarily formed groups called Friendly Societies to provide help for one another in times of distress. Based on the spirit of brotherhood, each family contributed to a fund from which they could draw when an emergency arose.

In 1874 at Newark, New Jersey, a group of people carrying on these traditions of mutual aid and fraternity started The Independent Order of Foresters.

This rare image from the early days of forestry is vibrant and in very fine condition.Fraternal organization.
